Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, improve performance, and provide information to the site owner.
Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third-party services operating on that site ("third-party cookies"). They can be "session cookies" — which expire when you close your browser — or "persistent cookies" — which remain on your device for a set period.
2. How EIGHTYsx Uses Cookies
EIGHTYsx uses a small number of cookies to operate the website and, where you have given consent, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
We do not use cookies for advertising, remarketing, or profiling purposes. We do not sell cookie data to third parties.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as storing your cookie consent preference. They do not collect personal data for marketing purposes.
- eightysx_cookie_consent — Stores your cookie consent choice (accepted or declined). Set in your browser's localStorage. No expiry until manually cleared.
Analytics Cookies (Consent Required)
These cookies are only set if you accept cookies via our consent banner. They help us understand how visitors interact with the website so we can improve the user experience.
- Google Tag Manager (_ga, _gid, and related) — We use Google Tag Manager to load analytics scripts after consent is given. GTM may set Google Analytics cookies to collect anonymised usage data such as pages visited, time on site, and referral source. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
If you decline cookies, Google Tag Manager and all associated analytics cookies will not be loaded.
Functionality Cookies
EIGHTYsx does not currently use cookies to provide enhanced functionality beyond what is described above.
Third-Party Cookies
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) may set cookies on your device. These are governed by Google's privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not embed social media plugins, advertising networks, or other third-party trackers that would set cookies independently of your consent.
4. Cookies We Do NOT Use
EIGHTYsx does not currently use:
- Advertising or remarketing cookies
- Social media tracking cookies
- Cross-site behavioural profiling cookies
- Payment processor cookies (payment processing, if used, occurs on third-party platforms)
5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
When you first visit the EIGHTYsx website, you will see a cookie consent banner with the option to Accept or Decline non-essential cookies.
- Accept: We will load analytics cookies (via GTM) to help us understand site usage.
- Decline: Only the essential consent-preference cookie is stored. No analytics scripts are loaded.
Your preference is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key eightysx_cookie_consent. The banner will not reappear once you have made a choice.
Withdrawing or Changing Consent
To change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time:
- Clear your browser's local storage or browsing data for eightysx.com — the consent banner will reappear on your next visit
- Most browsers also allow you to block or delete cookies directly via browser settings
- For Google Analytics specifically, you can opt out using Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
6. Browser Cookie Controls
You can control cookies at the browser level. Most modern browsers allow you to:
- View and delete existing cookies
- Block cookies from specific sites
- Block all third-party cookies
- Clear all cookies when you close the browser
Note that blocking essential cookies may affect the functionality of some websites. Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:
